Making Minecraft ladders

Ladders in Minecraft are much like ladders in real life. You can attach them to the side of other blocks and use them to move horizontally or vertically.

Crafting a ladder requires seven sticks, which will give you three ladders, all one block high. Now there are some rules you have to keep in mind when working with ladders.

• Ladders can only by placed on sides of other blocks and will occupy one block on the side they’re placed.
• You can’t place a ladder on glass, ice, leaves or glowstone blocks.
• Ladders can resist water. lava and create air pockets.

Here’s how you can craft a ladder in Minecraft.

Step 1: Walk up to your crafting table and right-click to open the 3×3 crafting grid.

Step 2: Place seven sticks in an H pattern, as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 3: Once the ladder is crafted, move it to your inventory.

Alternatively, you can also use a command to get ladders if you want to craft them. All you have to do is open your chatbox and enter the following command depending upon which version you’re playing. Keep in mind that this method requires cheats to be enabled in your world.

• Java edition 1.13 and higher: /give @p ladder 1
• Bedrock edition: /give @p ladder 1 0

You can now place and use your ladders anywhere you want. To use a ladder, all you have to do is walk up to a ladder and keep holding the forward button to climb.
