How to make a Loom in Minecraft

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a loom with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, the loom is another important item in your inventory. A loom is a new type of crafting table that allows you to take a banner, a dye and a banner pattern and weave them together to create amazing new banners. The loom makes it easy to create fancy banners with lots of different patterns to choose from.

3x3 crafting area

2. Add Items to make a Loom

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a loom, place 2 string and 2 wood planks in the 3x3 crafting grid.

When crafting with wood planks, you can use any kind of wood planks, such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, bamboo, crimson, warped or cherry planks. In our example, we are using oak planks.

When making a loom, it is important that the string and wood planks are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 string in the first box and 1 string in the second box. In the second row, there should be 1 wood planks in the first box and 1 wood planks in the second box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a loom.
