Step-by-Step Tutorial: How to Make a Crystal DIY Ring

Step 1: Prep Your Workspace

 E6000 glue is amazing but very strong—both in adhesion and smell. Be sure to use E6000 glue in a well ventilated area. This stuff is intense and will make the room you are in smell terrible if it’s not ventilated!

Lay down some scrap paper or a silicone mat down to protect your table or work surface.

Step 2: Choose Your Crystal

Pick a crystal or gemstone that speaks to you visually or spiritually. Do a quick search on its meaning if you want to make a ring with a specific intention.

Before you make your ring, take a moment to select a stone that reflects your current mood or goals. You can easily shop tumbled stones online or pick up raw crystals at local metaphysical shops if you don’t already have something you want to use.

Step 3: (Optional) Sand the Back of Your Stone

If your stone is super polished or smooth, lightly sand the back with fine-grit sandpaper. This gives the glue something to grip to, improving hold. You don’t have to do this step, but it’ll definitely help!

Step 4: Glue the Crystal to the Ring Base

The process is really very simple. All you need to do to make your statement ring is glue the stone to the ring base. Carefully apply a small dot of E6000 glue to the center of the ring blank. Gently press your crystal onto the glue and hold it for 30 seconds to ensure a firm bond.

Avoid using too much glue though, it can ooze out the sides and ruin an otherwise clean simple look!

Step 5: Let it Cure

Let the ring dry upright on a flat surface. I like to use a small bowl of rice or a ring holder to prop them up while drying. Stand it up and let dry for at least an hour. 

While the ring should be good to go after only an hour, it’s best to let the glue fully cure for 24 hours before wearing for optimal results. Patience is key here—let your bling settle unless you are truly having a fashion emergency and need it stat!
