I usually buy my strings at Hobby Lobby but they have it at Michaels and Wal-mart, too. This is the easiest knot and the first one I learned to do 🙂 How to make a square knot boondoggle

What you'll need:boondoggle string in 2 colors, a measuring tape, a key ring or metal clip, and scissors. How to make a square knot boondoggle

1. Cut 1 string of each color at 4 feet (48 inches).2. Slide the clip onto the strings and fold them in half so you have 4 strings. How to make a square knot boondoggle

3. Now turn it upside down.4. Arrange your strings so they are both laying flat, one is laying on top of the other, and they are in an x shape. How to make a square knot boondoggle

5. Take the bottom string, teal, and make 2 loops over the purple string.6. Then take 1 purple string and go over the first teal and under the second teal. Do the same with the other purple. Pull them tight. You have completed your first knot 🙂 How to make a square knot boondoggle

Keep making those knots until you reach your desired length. To end it, you can either just tie a knot or you can do an ending knot. How to make a square knot boondoggle

How to make an ending knot:1. Make another knot but keep it loose. How to make a square knot boondoggle

2. Take one string and go under the string to the right. Then bring it up through the middle. Do the same thing with the other 3 strings. How to make a square knot boondoggle

3. Pull it tight and cut off the excess string. I usually leave about an inch as a tassel. You have now completed an ending knot 🙂 How to make a square knot boondoggle

These are some of my other creations. The first 3 are square knot. Then there's a circle knot, a square/circle mix, 2 twists, and a weird striped, twisty one that I made. The unfinished one is a pentagon knot because it has 5 strings. 10 Comments

I always make the 6 string twisty ones for my friends and they're always like WHAAA 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 The twisty ones are kind of like square knots but like rectangles. so you have two strings that you flip to the opposite side of each other just as you would with the square knot. But instead of weaving in two like the square knots above, there are four on the side. That probably makes no sense. I actually just realized that that was actually the instructions for making a straight one actually, but I don't want to go back lol its basically the same except you tilt it to the side. To make the circle one you make a square knot but you angle it to the side. I hope all of that made sense I tried my best 😂You can also always look up youtube tutorials on these
