From grade school and throughout adulthood, glue helps create crafts and fixes broken items. Commercially available glues rarely live up to their claim and often contain a long list of potentially harmful chemicals. Casein glue, however, is a protein-based glue with roots that trace back to the ancient Egyptians. It is super strong, and you can make it using inexpensive household items.

Pour the mixture through a strainer. Discard the liquid whey and put the solid curds back into the saucepan. Hold the solid curds in your hand and squeeze gently to remove any excess liquid whey.
Step 4
Combine the baking soda and water in a small bowl until well mixed. Pour the mixture into the saucepan with the solid curds. Turn the stove on medium heat. Heat the mixture while stirring continuously until it starts to bubble.
Step 5
Turn the heat off and let the homemade glue cool for several minutes. Transfer the glue to a glass jar once it is cool to the touch.
Tip
