Honey, jam, pickled mushrooms, or vegetables are often stored in screw-top jars. But sometimes they are screwed so tightly that opening a simple jar of jam becomes a real challenge.

5-Minute Crafts would like to show you 5 methods that can help you easily open a stubborn jar.

1. Duct tape

  1. Take wide household duct tape and cut off 6 inches of it. Attach half of the tape to the lid so that it covers a third of its side and part of the top.
  2. Fold the other half of the tape along the long side, making it into a lever. The folded half of the tape should be directed counterclockwise.
  3. While holding the jar with your hand on a firm surface, pull the tape toward the lid, counterclockwise.
  4. The jar should open.

2. A stationary rubber band
