This wikiHow teaches you how to open and view the contents of a TSV (Tab Separated Values) data file on your computer. A TSV file contains a data table with columns of data and is similar to the CSV (Comma Separated Values) format. To view the data in a TSV file, you can use a desktop spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, or a cloud service like Google Sheets.

Opening a .TSV File

If you have access to a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, you can open the TSV file in that application. If you want to use a web browser application, use Google Sheets to open the TSV file. In either case, just double-click the file and select “Tab” as the delimiter in the Text Import Wizard.
