How To Perform A Takedown In UFC 4 - Pro Game Guides

If you want to get the fight to the ground in UFC 4, knowing how to perform takedowns effectively is key. Takedowns can be performed during stand-up or in the clinch. For takedowns available in the clinch, check out the guide on how to clinch in UFC 4. Most fighters can perform single and double leg takedowns, but only some can perform power takedowns.

The controls to perform a takedown below are based on the orthodox stance. Single leg and double leg takedowns will be flipped if in the southpaw stance.

• Double Leg Takedown - Hold L2+Triangle (PS4) Hold LT+Y (Xbox One)
• Single Leg Takedown - Hold L2+Square (PS4) Hold LT+X (Xbox One)
• Double Leg Power - Hold L1+L2+Triangle (PS4) Hold LT+LB+Y (Xbox One) to lift, left stick to carry opponent, any face button to slam.
• Single Leg Power - Hold L1+L2+Square (PS4) Hold LT+LB+X (Xbox One) to lift, left stick to carry opponent, any face button to slam.

If the opponent attempts to defend a takedown late, a Takedown Drive will be initiated. During a Takedown Drive, the player can drive the opponent back by pushing the left stick towards the opponent. The player can also change directions on the takedown by flicking the left stick up or down. The opponent must then mirror the change to defend the takedown.

To defend a takedown, press L2+R2 (PS4) and LT+RT (Xbox One). If late on the inputs, you will have to defend a Takedown Drive by flicking the left stick in the direction the opponent moves.
