On desktop:

1. Upload a video to your Imgur account.
2. When it's done processing, play the video in full-screen mode.
3. Right-click on the video and "Choose open in new tab".
4. Change .mp4 in the URL to .gifv and paste the link on Reddit.

On mobile:

1. Upload your video to Imgur on its mobile version.
2. When it's uploaded and playable, press on the video and hold for a while, and choose "Copy Link", instead of "Copy Post Link".
3. Go to a subreddit that allows you to post videos, tab "Link" in the upload interface, and paste the link from Imgur.
4. Change .mp4 in the link to .gifv. and publish the post.

How to Post YouTube Videos on Reddit

Reddit also hosts videos from YouTube via links and embeds the YouTube player on your post after it's published. In this way, you can share videos with others without downloading them in advance, meanwhile, you don't need to wait for a long time to upload and process the video. Here's how.

1. Open a video on YouTube. Click the share option to copy the video link.
2. Open Reddit and create a new post.
3. Paste the YouTube video link to it and add a title for your post.
4. Choose a subreddit and publish the YouTube video on Reddit.

Troubleshoot Reddit Video Upload Problems

1. Can't Upload Video to Reddit

It's simple to follow the steps above to upload a video to Reddit, but many users still suffer from unexpected errors and upload failures. For example, when you drag videos to the new post area, it says "Sorry, we accept only images (.png, jpeg, .gif) and videos (.mp4, .mov)" or "Failed to upload media".

Here's a checklist of possible reasons and solutions to Reddit video upload failure:

2. There's No Sound when Videos Are Uploaded to Reddit

3. Videos Became Blurry When Uploaded to Reddit
