All Secret Characters

Arval

Rhea, Sothis, and Arval are secret unlockable characters that do not need to be recruited. Instead you'll have to complete the game at least once, and unlock them using Renown from your personal quarters in the camp. They each cost 60 Renown to unlock.

Both Sothis and Rhea can be recruited by simply completing the game on any difficulty, while Arval will only become available if you recruited Byleth in your previous save file.

The fan-favorite Gatekeeper of Garreg Mach has also been spotted as a playable character! He is automatically playable at the start of the following chapters after your third New Game Plus playthrough of the game. No dialogue and added steps needed.

Other characters like those from Garreg Mach have returned to the game. They do not seem to be playable, but they appear in certain chapters either as an NPC in the camp, in cutscenes with other playable and non-playable characters, or as enemy generals in the battlefield.
