1 Place the Apple Watch face down. The band release button is on the back of the Apple Watch. To access it, remove your Apple Watch and place it face down on a clean surface.[1] -
2 Press and hold the band release button. The band release button is the oval-shaped button right below where the band connects to the watch.[2] Advertisement -
3 Slide the watch band out to the side. While holding the band release button, slide the band out to the right.[3] -
4 Press and hold the release button on the other side. There are two band release buttons on the Apple watch for both sides of the band. -
5 Slide the watch band out to the side. While holding down the band release button, slide the watch band out to the side. The watch band is now removed. - If you have a link bracelet, you need to separate the link bracelet before you can remove it.[4]

Separate a Link Bracelet Band

1 Close the butterfly closure. The butterfly closure closes over the Apple Watch. To close it, fold one side over the other until you hear it click. -
2 Press and hold the quick release button. The quick release button is on the inside of the bracelet. -
3 Pull the links apart. The links pull apart where the quick release button is at. While holding down the quick release button, gently pull the links apart to separate the bracelet into two pieces. -
4 Remove the band. Using the steps in method 1, remove the link bracelet.[5] Advertisement
