How To Remove Background Noise From Audio With WavePad

1. Download WavePad Audio Editor

2. Open Audio File

3. Remove Background Noise from Audio

Navigate to the Cleanup tool under the Effects toolbar. From the Cleanup drop-down menu, select Noise Reduction and then Auto Spectral Subtraction. You can adjust the audio proportion percentage manually, or select a preset from the drop-down menu that best suits the audio you are working on, whether you want to apply the effect to the vocals or apply the effect to music. 4. Optional: Remove More Unwanted Noise

If there is still unwanted background audio noise from the sound file you want to further remove, click the Cleanup button again, select Noise Reduction and click on Multi-Band Noise Gating. From this window, you can adjust the slider to your liking or use the pre-set option available to you. You can adjust the noise gate level manually, or select a preset from the drop-down menu that best suits the audio you are working on. After you have adjusted your noise reduction settings, click on Reduce Noise and listen to your audio again.
