It’s easy to remove chocolate from the couch upholstery in three simple steps – and it’ll take you no more than five minutes.

3 simple steps to removing chocolate stains

  1. Scrape chocolate off with a knife. Don’t scrub.
  2. Blot the stain with cold soapy water, working from the outside in.
  3. Pat the area dry using a towel.

By scraping the chocolate off with a knife you’re removing the bulk of it from the fibres of the fabric and stopping it from staining before it gets a chance to soak in. The cold soapy water will then help even further to lift the gooey, greasy chocolate particles from the surface and by patting dry you won’t be rubbing the stain in. Magic!

For stubborn stains

1. Mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part water.

2. Apply with a spray bottle.

3. Wait 30 minutes.

4. Blot and rinse.
