How To Remove Eyebrow Tint - LEAFtv

Eyebrow tinting gives definition to fair-haired or over-plucked brows. Performed in certified salons, even the smallest strands and the skin beneath the brows are dyed to make them visible and help frame the face. The color change can take some getting used to, particularly if they turn out darker than expected. While salon tints are strong, it is possible to lighten the dye at home if the color is not quite to your liking.

Pull your hair back off of your face, using a headband if necessary to keep your brows visible.

Pour 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of water into a small bowl. Use a spoon to mix them together until blended. This natural scrub will remove the dead skin beneath your eyebrows, including the tint, without being too abrasive.

Dip your fingertips into the mixture and massage it into your eyebrow, working in an upward-circular motion. Repeat on your other brow.

Soak a clean face cloth in warm water. Close your eyes and wipe the cloth over the scrub, to remove it and provide further exfoliation. Pat your face dry with a towel.

Soak a cotton pad in hydrogen peroxide. Place a face cloth over your eyes, and hold it in place with one hand to protect your eyes.

Place the cotton pad with hydrogen peroxide against your inner brow and sweep it outward to the tail end of your brow. Hydrogen peroxide will lighten any remaining tint. Repeat on your other brow.

Tip

Have a friend help you with the removal if you have sensitive eyes or skin.

Warning

Never use hair-color removal products on your face, as they pose a risk to your vision.

Only have your brows tinted at professional, certified salons.
