Gorilla Glue is a brand of multipurpose adhesive manufactured by the Gorilla Glue Company of Cincinnati. It is known for its ability to bond smooth, flat surfaces effectively. The Gorilla Glue formula uses tiny rubber particles that expand to help form a more secure bond.

Gorilla Glue is known for its strength.

While the security of this bond is great for items you want to hold together, the charm wears off quickly when trying to remove the excess residue from your skin or project.

Things You Will Need

+
  • Warm, soapy water
  • Acetone fingernail polish remover

Removing Gorilla Glue Brand Super Glue

  1. Soak the area in warm, soapy water or acetone. 100% acetone fingernail polish remover works well. If you cannot find 100% acetone remover, any will do as long as it isn't non-acetone.

  2. Avoid pulling at the area and try wiggling it gently instead. This will allow the water and/or acetone to penetrate the bond.

  3. If the residue is on the surface of the project, soak the area completely with either hot, soapy water or acetone. Try the hot, soapy water option first as acetone may damage the project material. If the soapy water doesn't work, try the acetone in a small, inconspicuous area first, and proceed accordingly.
