Hard water essentially refers to water that contains calcium and magnesium. These minerals make your glass surfaces look cloudy and old. Your bathroom might attract hard water stains due to water flow or excess lathering. These stains may be visible on your tubs and showers.

Removing hard water stains is not as challenging as is commonly believed. You can use a commercially available stain remover or restore their shine and brightness using the cleaning tips given here.

  • How to Clean Using Newspaper

    1. 1

      Step 1: Use Dry Newspapers

The black and white print on old newspapers can clear the minerals from your glass surfaces, making it easier to scrub them away. You can use dry newspapers to absorb the minerals from the glass, or soak the newspaper in cold water and wipe with it.

    2. 2

Step 2: Wipe with Damp Cloth

Wipe the surface thoroughly with damp cloth to get rid of residue.

    3. 3

      Step 3: Allow Air-Drying

Once the area is cleaned, allow air-drying.

  • How to Clean Using White Vinegar

    1. 1

Step 1: Make a Cleaning Paste

Make a paste using white vinegar and baking soda.

    2. 2

      Step 2: Apply the Paste

Apply this paste on the stained areas of your glass surfaces and let it rest for 15 minutes. Scrub off the paste using water.

    3. 3

      Step 3: Clean Stubborn Stains

If the stains are too challenging to remove, prepare a solution by mixing white vinegar with hot water. Soak the stain-affected area of the glass in the solution and wash it off.

  • How to Clean Using Lemon Juice

    1. 1

Step 1: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix white vinegar with lemon juice in equal parts.

    2. 2

Step 2: Apply on the Stained Surfaces

Pour the solution in an empty spray bottle and spray it on the stained areas of your glass surfaces. Let the solution rest on the stains for 10 minutes.

    3. 3

Step 3: Wipe Using a Damp Cloth

Wipe it off using a damp cloth.

Use lint-free towels to dry your glass surfaces to avoid water marks. And try to treat stains as soon as you spot them to prevent build-up.
