Troubleshooting Tips to Reset Any JBL Speaker

Turn on your JBL speaker, then press the volume up and play buttons at the same time for 10 seconds. Wait until the status light shuts off, then press the power button for a hard reset. Alternatively, press the play/pause, volume up, and volume down buttons simultaneously.

  • The best way to reset the Charge Essential is to hold the Bluetooth and Volume + buttons together. After resetting it, my speaker wouldn't turn back on at first, but when I plugged it in to a power source, it resumed as normal. It was charged before I did this, so I think plugging it in might be a necessary step.
