Learn how to roll a backwoods blunt.

1. Break weed up by hand

   Time to grab your jar and pick out some choice buds. Break down those sweet, sticky nugs by hand — as opposed to a grinder — for a smoother smoke. On average, about 1.5 - 2 grams of cannabis will fit in a Backwoods blunt, but since it's just raw tobacco leaves, the size of the leaf varies per package.

2. Find the edge of the wrap

   Find the edge of the leaf and track it down to the tip of the cigar. This will ensure a clean unravel.

3. Unravel the wrap and remove tobacco

   Once you've followed the edge of the leaf to the end of the cigar, gently begin to peel the leaf away from the cigar. We're trying to fill the Backwoods with something much more delicious, so once you've unraveled the tobacco leaf, gut the insides into an ashtray or small dish.

4. Place broken buds in the wrap

   Unlike other blunt wraps, every Backwoods leaf is unique in shape. This can make it a little more difficult to fill because it doesn't have a natural pocket for your cannabis. Now that your weed is all broken down, find the center point on the leaf and lay out your herb in a line down the wrap.

5. Tuck one side of the edge around the weed until secure

   Get ready to tuck. Hold the blunt between your index and middle fingers and your thumb.

6. Roll the leaf up entirely over the weed

   Gently roll the leaf edge closest to you up and over the weed, tucking it into the other side while gently applying pressure with your thumb to make the blunt tighter.

7. Gently apply pressure and complete the roll

   This is the trickiest part, but it's just like rolling a joint; once you have it down it becomes muscle memory. Don't worry if some weed falls out, you can always use it to top off the blunt once it's rolled. 

8. Generously lick edge then press down tightly to seal

   Once the blunt is tightly tucked and rolled, it's time to seal that ish. Since the tobacco leaf is uneven, there will be a leftover tail that will help seal the blunt wrap. Generously lick that extra bit of leaf and wrap it around the blunt, using your lips to push down and seal the leaf tightly.
