Trend Micro keeps your Mac protected in real-time so you do not need to scan manually to remove threats. If your Mac performs poorly due to a possible infection, you can still run a scan at any time.

1. Open Trend Micro Antivirus.
2. Click the Scan Now button.

   

Scan Options

You can also customize where Trend Micro runs scans on your Mac:

1. Open Trend Micro Antivirus.
2. Click the Scans tab.

   

3. Select the type of scan you want to run, then click Start Selected Scan.

   

   • Smart Scan: Check files and folders that are most likely to contain malicious software. Quicker than a Full scan and generally detects the same threats.
   • Custom Scan: Check files in a specific location on your Mac.
   • Full Scan: Scan all the files on your Mac. Takes longer than other types of scans but checks every file on your Mac for malware.
