Want to capture what’s happening on your iPhone SE 3 screen? Whether it’s a tutorial, a game clip, or a bug you need to share, your iPhone has a built-in screen recorder that makes it easy. Here’s how to use it—and how to add sound if you need it.

Start a Screen Recording from Control Center

  1. Open Control CenterSwipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap the Screen Record iconLook for the icon with a white dot inside a circle. When tapped, a 3-second countdown will begin.
  3. Record your screenAfter the countdown, everything on your screen will be recorded—including app activity, gestures, and notifications.
  4. Stop the recordingTap the red clock or red status bar at the top of the screen, then tap Stop.

Your recording is automatically saved to the Photos app.

Enable the Microphone to Record Audio

Need to include voiceover or outside sound?

  1. Open Control Center.
  2. Press and hold the Screen Record icon.
  3. Tap the Microphone icon to turn it On.
  4. Tap Start Recording.

Now both internal and external audio will be captured in your video.

Add Screen Recording to Control Center (If Missing)

Don’t see the screen recording icon?

  1. Go to Settings > Control Center.
  2. Scroll to More Controls.
  3. Tap the + button next to Screen Recording.

It will now appear in your Control Center for quick access.

Where to Find and Edit Your Recordings

After recording, open the Photos app:

  • Tap Albums > Screen Recordings (or just scroll through Recents).
  • You can trim, crop, or mute audio using the built-in Edit tools.
  • Tap the Share icon to send your clip via AirDrop, Messages, or social media.

Prefer a Third-Party App? You’ve Got Options

While the built-in tool works great for most cases, there are several powerful screen recording apps in the App Store:

  • Record it!

  • GoRecord
  • TechSmith Capture
  • ScreenFlow
  • ApowerREC
  • QuickTime Player (Mac-based)

These apps often include features like annotations, webcam overlays, and cloud syncing.
