1. Soften Sugar With a Blender

What you will need:

  • Sealed baggie
  • Rolling pin or meat cleaver
  • Blender

Step 1 – Fill your baggie about the ¾ the way with your sugar.

Squeeze the air out the baggie and and seal it.

Step 2 – Using a rolling pin or meat cleaver start pounding the baggie.

Be careful as to not rip up the baggie.

This is so that the hard chunky pieces of sugar start to break down into smaller chunks.

Step 3 – Plug in your blender and pour all of the sugar from the baggie into it.

Turn on your blender or processor and wait for it as it pulses for about a minute.

Do this until you see your sugar go back and return to its original state.

Step 4 – To avoid and prevent the hardening of your sugar, make sure that you will keep your white sugar safely kept and locked inside a container.

Make sure it is sealed if you are not going to use it.

2. Soften Sugar With a Microwave

What you will need:

  • Microwave
  • Microwave safe container
  • Plastic wrap
  • Spoon

Step 1 – Pour the sugar into the microwave safe container.

Wrap the container with the plastic wrap.

Step 2 – Place the wrapped container of sugar in the microwave and heat for 1 minute.

Stir the sugar and check for clumps.

If the sugar is clump free move on to step 3.

If not heat the sugar for one more minute and check again.

Step 3 – Pour the softened sugar into a container for storage.

Be sure that your container closes completely to keep moisture from getting back into the sugar.

3. Soften Sugar With the Apple Method

If you have an apple at home then this method might be perfect for you.

  1. Start by removing the core of your apple and cutting it in quarters.
  2. Then take your storage or container from which you are keeping your sugar and place all four quarters of your apple inside.Seal it in and keep it in a cool but dry place or somewhere with room temperature.
  3. Wait for over 12 hours and remove the slices after.

Then, use a spoon or a fork just to loosen and ruffle your sugar granules up.

The Slice of Bread Method

You are going to need a bread for this one.

This one is fairly easy.

The only thing you need to is to cut a slice of a bread and place it along with your sugar granules inside your container or storage.

Make sure, it is sealed after.

You can wait for about a day before you can take the sugar out.

The reason for the use of bread is because it absorbs the moisture from your sugar, allowing it to return to its original texture.

The Casserole Dish Method

If you happen to be having a casserole dish the same time you are having an issue with the texture of your sugar, then this might be perfect for you.

This is also fairly easy.

Place the hardened sugar along with your casserole dish inside your oven preheated to 150-200 degrees.

Cook it for over 15 minutes.

Then tap it with a spoon, just to loosen them out.

Final Thoughts

The two quick and easy manner in which you can soften your rock hard sugar is by the use of blender after pounding it using a rolling pin, spoon, or the flat side of a meat tenderizing hammer and the use of microwave.

However, in case these said materials are not available.

You can use The Apple Method, The Slice of Bread Method, and The Casserole Dish Method.
