Peril on Gorgon Outer Worlds DLC – How to Start

To start the Outer Worlds Peril on Gorgon DLC, you first have to load an older save. Specifically, one in which you’ve completed the Radio Free Monarch mission, but haven’t yet gone past the point of no return, aka the final mission. If you don’t have a save like that, you will have to start over and play until you finish Radio Free Monarch. That’s not too bad, considering that said quest is fairly early on in the game; you won’t waste too much of your time.

Once you load up the save, head into your ship and travel from wherever you are to literally anywhere else. In the middle of the journey, a Halcyon Parcel Service employee is going to get on the comm with you. He says he has a package for Hawthorne, and you have to accept it. After you do, open your Journal, and look under Main Quests. You’ll find a mission called “The Ones Who Walk Away From Gorgon” that’ll tell you that you need to open the package to begin the Outer Worlds Gorgon DLC. Sweet Ursula K. Le Guin reference in the name there, by the way.

The package is, of course, in your cargo bay. If you mark the quest, it’ll show you exactly where it is. Once you open it, you’re pretty much safely on your way. You’ll have a chat with your crew about what awaits you, and you’ll even earn the “Peril at Hand” trophy for starting the Outer Worlds DLC.
