Welcome to IGN's guide on how to access Pokémon Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra DLC. The DLC can be accessed by purchasing the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass, updating the game, then following certain steps. Try manually updating your game if it doesn't automatically do so.

How to Get to The Crown Tundra

Upon loading your save, after purchasing the DLC and downloading the latest update, you will automatically be given a Crown Pass which can be used at Wedgehurst Station to access the new area.

Fly to Wedghehurst and enter the train station, then speak to the man next to the PokeMart to take a train to the Crown Tundra Station.

Choose to leave to The Crown Tundra, and the train will take you there. Upon exiting the train station in the Crown Tundra (after the scientist expands your Pokedex) you will encounter a man and young woman arguing in the snow.

Walk up to them to trigger a cutscene, then get ready to battle against the man. He is a steel type trainer with a Copperajah and Aggron. Prepare your Fire, Fighting, or Ground types for an easy win.

After beating him the man, Peony, will notice the young woman, his daughter Peonia, has run off to the Max Lair. He will head that direction as well. Follow the path forward to continue your quest.
