How to Stiff ArmBy Jon MichaelJanet GarciaWiki_Creation_Bot+11 moreupdatedAug 15, 2019

Knowing how to stiff arm in Madden NFL 20 can make the difference between a loss of yards and a touchdown! This page will give you a quick breakdown of how to stiff arm.

To execute a stiff arm as the ball carrier, press or hold X on the PS4 or A on the Xbox One. The ball carrier will automatically transfer the ball to the hand that is farther away from the defender, then extend the closer arm to push them away. Stiff arms work well against diving tackles or Hit Sticks to prevent fumbles, but some players are better at it than others based on their attributes.

While stiff arming, your ball carrier's speed will be reduced so it shouldn't be used in the open field. Being hit while stiff arming also increases the chance of fumbling if a tackle comes from the side where the ball is being held, so if you're surrounded by defenders, it's best to instead cover the ball by holding R1 (PS4) or RB (XB1).
