I’m going to show you how to store bok choy to last for weeks. All you need is aluminum foil and a bag to keep greens crisp, crunchy and fresh!

Ok, so you’ve grown lots of bok choy (here’s how we grow bok choy indoors). But now you need to store it to make it last!
I’ve showed you how to freeze bok choy, but now I’m here to help you store bok choy. This method is very similar to how I store lettuce, and how I store kale, keeping it fresh for almost a month.
Should I wash greens before storing?
No, wash them when you’re ready to use them, not before storing them. Adding extra moisture to them before they go in the refrigerator is going to shorten their lifespan. When you’re ready to use them in your favorite salad or stir fry, then give them a wash in your salad spinner.
How to store bok choy
Pick your bok choy from the garden, or buy from the grocery store/farmers market. Don’t wash it, but shake it to remove any dirt and debris.

Rip a piece of aluminum foil that’s large enough to be able to completely cover the bok choy once it’s folded up. I don’t like to package the bok choy too tight together to prevent leaves from breaking, but you can layer them.

Now fold the sides together.

And then fold up the top and bottom, making sure the bok choy is completely covered.

Depending on the amount of bok choy you have, you might have to do this 2 or 3 times. I try to separate them into meals if possible to make it easier to use.

Finally, place into a plastic bag (I use freezer bags and reuse them), leaving the bag slightly open (don’t seal it completely).

Now put in your crisper drawer in the refrigerator, and you’re all set. Once you need bok choy, grab some, wash it and be amazed by how crisp and crunchy it is!
