Don't aim for it's head if it's a trike, trikes have armored frills so they take less damage on the head aka less torpor. You're best aiming for a trike's body or legs to give the most torpor per shot.

I'm probably wrong, but this sort of sounds like you're still hitting it when you have KO'd it? If so, as soon as you can see the Taming bar you need to stop hitting it, feed it the appropriate food and force feed it Narcoberries and/or Narcotics to keep it knocked out. Taming a trike with a slingshot is harsh but not impossible.Don't aim nor shoot at the head, it isn't worth it since the torpor will slightly or not increase at all.If you are facing him head on, aim for the legs. Or run around a boulder or a tree, force him to turn around, then aim and shoot at its main body.Tip the slingshot is highly inefficient for a high level trike, you will ended up killing it in the process, or lose every and all stones with you. Gain a few levels untill you unlock the tranq arrows, afterwards taming a trike or any creature will become easier.tranq arrows inflict initial torpor, and (after you hit your target) it will increase for a few seconds.Basically shoot the tranq arrow at its main body and count to 3, you can shoot multiple times as well but you'll only making him incredibly weak, waste arrows, and probably kill it.Shoot with moderation!

ARK is not a simple game so getting a base level of knowledge from the wiki and other sources before hitting the forums with questions is just a bit of courtesy to the people from which you want help. You cannot bola a trike, well you could chain bola one but you have 5 hours played, doubt you have a chain bola unlocked or maybe you are playing a modded server where trikes can be bola'd?

Terrible idea, Trike takes less damage to the headTrike is slow and has a large turning circle so you can outrun it and dodge very easy.I don't know what level trike you were trying to knockout but at low levels it is not possible to kill them by slingshot and a level 150 has a 5% chance to die, you have to be pretty unlucky.You can get on a ledge but it tends to run away if it cant get to you so best to just dodge its charge and hit it when it is turning around to have another go at you. Each dino has a certain amount of torpor that depends from its total lv and random lv distribution the game does. 2 different 50 lv Trikes can have different amount of torpor but there is always an average.When Torpor hits 100% the dino gets KOed and you can begin taming.2)Below we can see what weapon inflicts how much torpor on the TrikeFor example as you can see you need approx 88 hits with a club to the BODY. Trikes gets reduced Headshot damage.Or 11 Tranq Arrows to the BODY with a regular bow. Or you can wait until you can make a bow and tranq arrows, which will make it much easier. Make sure you watch the animals topor so it doesn't wake up on you. It will look intimidating for a newer player, but if you take the time to read through it, you'll notice that you can calculate whether or not a certain level creature has a chance to die before being knocked out through certain methods. For example, according to the app, a level 120 Triceratops has approximately a 6.9% chance of dying before being knocked out, if you are using a slingshot.
