TRUETAPE: how to tape your thumb

What you need

2 TRUETAPE strips1 pair of scissors

Wearing time

4 days

Taping tips

Apply tape 1 hour before starting an activity

Thoroughly remove dirt, moisture, oils and lotions from the skin before taping

Do not wear the tape for longer than 7 days

To activate the adhesive, carefully rub the tape several times after applying

In areas that are particularly hairy, trim the hair to ensure the tape sticks better

Remove paper backing before application and always make sure the ends of the tape are applied WITHOUT stretch

Keep your thumb abducted during the whole application.Optional: Use second strip for additional stabilization.

1. STRIP

Application thumb - Step 10% STRETCH

Fold strip in the middle and round the corners...

Application thumb - Step 20% STRETCH

...do not cut the tape fully in the middle.

Application thumb - Step 30% STRETCH

Tear off paper backing in the middle and fold it back on both sides.

Application thumb - Step 40% STRETCH

Apply tape without stretch in the middle and the inside of your thumb.

Application thumb - Step 550-75% STRETCH

Tape with 50-75% stretch around your thumb...

Application thumb - Step 650-75% STRETCH

...towards the back of your hand.

Application thumb - Step 70% STRETCH

Apply ends without stretch.

Application thumb - Step 850-75% STRETCH

Apply the other end of the tape with 50-75% stretch around the other side of your thumb.

Application thumb - Step 950-75% STRETCH

Keep applying with 50-75% stretch towards the inside of your wrist.

Application thumb - Step 100% STRETCH

Apply the end without stretch again.

2. STRIP

Application thumb - Step 110% STRETCH

Prepare the strip as previously. Apply tape in the middle of the back of your thumb without stretch.

Application thumb - Step 1250-75% STRETCH

Apply with 50-75% stretch around the inside of your thumb.

Application thumb - Step 1350-75% STRETCH

Apply slightly next to the anchor point on the back of your thumb towards the inside of your hand.

Application thumb - Step 140% STRETCH

Apply the end without stretch just between your palm and wrist.

Application thumb - Step 1550-75% STRETCH

Apply the other end with 50-75% stretch around the outside of your thumb...

Application thumb - Step 1650-75% STRETCH

... and onwards towards the back of your wrist.

Application thumb - Step 17DONE!

Apply the end without stretch. Make sure to give the whole application another good rub to activate the adhesive. Congrats, that's it.
