Disney Plus makes this easy for you — in fact, not only can you control the language of your subtitles, but you can control the language that Disney Plus uses throughout its interface.
There are a few ways to turn subtitles on and off when using Disney Plus, though the exact steps may vary depending on which device you're using.
How to turn Disney Plus subtitles on or off on an iPhone
1. While your video is playing, tap the screen.
2. Three icons will appear in the top right corner. Tap the one on the right, with the lines at the bottom.
3. On the right side of the next screen under Subtitles, choose the language option that you want.
How to turn Disney Plus subtitles on or off on an Android
1. While your video is playing, tap the screen.
2. An icon of a box with lines at the bottom will appear on the right. Tap it.

How to turn subtitles on or off on the Disney Plus website
1. While your video is playing, move your mouse over the screen.
2. In the top right corner, click on the icon of the box with lines at the bottom.
3. On the right side of the screen under Subtitles, choose the language option that you want.
How to turn Disney Plus subtitles on or off on Roku devices
1. While your movie or show is playing, press the Asterisk button on the Roku remote.
2. When the Options tab appears, select Closed captioning and press OK on the remote.
3. Choose On replay, Off, or On Always.
4. Press the Back arrow on the remote or wait for the Options panel to disappear.
How to turn Disney Plus subtitles on or off on Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV
1. While your movie or show is playing, swipe up or down on your remote. If you have a second or third generation Apple TV, hold down the center button instead.
2. Select the Settings icon in the lower right corner.
3. In the Audio and Subtitles menu, choose Subtitles. Select the language you want (or choose Off), then press the Back button on the remote to return to your movie.
How to turn Disney Plus subtitles on Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5
The Disney Plus app is available for both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and the method to adjust subtitles is the same for both.
1. While your video is playing, press the "down" button on your remote.
2. Select the option reading either Menu or Dialogue that appears in the top right corner.
3. Choose the subtitle option you want, and return to your show.
