robardin So in previous cars, that had traditional key turned ignitions instead of push-button, there were three positions for turning the key in the ignition forward: turning it to the first notch enabled electrical accessories, and then turning it further (all the way) would trigger the starter to start to turn over. If you only "just" turned it to the end but immediately released it without triggering the starter, the car would basically be stalled, but things that required the "engine to be on" would be on, that would be off in "accessory" mode. (Using a Hondata FlashPro requires the car to be in this mode to update the ECU, for example.) In this car with a push starter, I can push the button with my foot off the brake/clutch pedal to enter Acessory Mode, but there doesn't seem to be a way to be in Ignition mode that doesn't actually start the car. How is that achieved? In my ST with a 6MT, I can do it by starting the car and then intentionally stalling it, but then I feel like an idiot. I know the CVT versions of the 10th and 11th gen Civics can use FlashPro so it must be possible. #1 · Dec 27, 2021 So in previous cars, that had traditional key turned ignitions instead of push-button, there were three positions for turning the key in the ignition forward: turning it to the first notch enabled electrical accessories, and then turning it further (all the way) would trigger the starter to start to turn over.
