Do my airpods only turn off in the case? Is there a way to power on and power off without the case?

Hi, Aselinger, Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand you have some questions about the functionality of the AirPods related to power. Specifically, if there is a way to turn the AirPods off without the case. I'm happy to provide you with some information! Per Use your AirPods - Apple Support , the AirPods automatically are on and ready to use when removed from their case, which is used to charge them. The AirPods do not have a separate power button, and cannot be turned off while out of the case. To turn off and charge the AirPods, place them back in the case. Have a lovely day!
