How To Twist A Soft Pretzel - It's Easier Than You Think - Dana Vento

How To Twist A Soft PretzelThere’s nothing more infuriating than needing a skill that you can’t find. A while back I watched some guy ‘discuss’ twisting a pretzel. End result, I was like “DUDE, clearly you don’t get the purpose of sharing information.

He reminded me a lot of THAT professor you have in college that talks AT you rather to you. The whole pretzel twisting thing just escaped the premises of his video. So, after that crap video, I swore up and down not only would I make clear food videos but actually SHOW how to twist a soft pretzel.

Since I make then a lot, I don’t actually think about it. However, since I made a batch of fresh soft bread pretzels, I figured this was the perfect time!

Topping Your Pretzel

Here’s where you can have fun. If you are making plain dough pretzels, try butter and garlic salt. If you want a sweet and sugary topping, opt for cinnamon and sugar after quickly brushing the pretzel with melted butter.

For those that love cheese, top it with freshly grated mozzarella when it comes out of the oven and it will melt. However, if you are a total pizza junkie try topping it with a bit of sauce, cheese and pepperoni and let it sit in the warm oven for few minutes more.

Pepperoni only? When you twist the pretzels, top them off with pepperoni slices and bake them when you bake the pretzels. It’s super easy to create fun toppings, just put atop a pretzel what you would on bread.

Get creative, and let your twisting help your creativity. Last, don’t forget that plain old salt will go far. After all that is how the pretzels originally were right?
