Steps to Unlock the Wide Beam Upgrade

The Wide Beam is located in the central area of Dairon.

1 Metroid Dread - Wide Beam dimly lit areaGo through the dimly lit area.Enter the passage in the left side of the map that leads to a dark area and continue till you reached the next room.
2 Metroid Dread - Wide Beam Hidden Narrow PassageSlide through the hidden narrow passage.After traversing the barely visible room and defeating enemies along the way, shoot the ground to create an opening and slide through the hidden narrow passage to the left.
3 Metroid Dread - Wide Beam Activate GeneratorActivate the generator.You'll arrive in the generator room. Activate the generator to brighten up the area.
4 Metroid Dread - Wide Beam Power Beam DoorOpen the Power Beam Door.Jump to the upper-right corner and open the Power Beam Door.
5 Metroid Dread - Wide Beam Missile DoorOpen the Missile Door.After dodging and defeating the enemies, continue towards the right and open the Missile Door.
6 Metroid Dread - Wide Beam LocationObtain the upgrade.Destroy the item sphere and grab the upgrade.

How to Use the Wide Beam

Press Y to Shoot

Open Wide Beam Doors

Metroid Dread - Wide Beam (Wide Beam Door)

Certain doors can only be opened when hit by a Wide Beam. Doors that can be opened with the Wide Beam has an outer covering with three points. Once this covering is destroyed, they revert back to a regular Power Beam Door.

Deal More Damage to Enemies

With the Wide Beam, Samus can inflict thrice as much damage to enemies compared to her Power Beam if all three beams hit the target.

Where to Go After Wide Beam

After getting the Wide Beam, you will now need to go back to Cataris and beat the Green EMMI to get the Morph Ball upgrade.

1 Wide Beam to CatarisMake your way to Cataris to fight the Green EMMI.With the new Wide Beam upgrade, you will now be able to open new doors and remove Wide Beam Boxes. Use this to make your way back to the Cataris Shuttle.
2 Cataris Central Unit locationMake your way to the Cataris Central Unit.Again, you will need to use your new Wide Beam upgrade to access Wide Beam covered doors.
3 Greem EMMI defeatedDestroy the Central Unit and defeat the Green EMMI.After this, you will unlock the Morph Ball upgrade.
