STIopener I am flashed stage 2 on my 08 with the COBB AP but my car was broken into and the AP was stolen (stupid right?). I want to get a protune but don't know if it will be a problem since I am flashed with the AP already. I will be getting an Opensource tune...will the tuner have any trouble? Is there anything I have to do? Thanks for the help in advance. #1 · Aug 10, 2009 I am flashed stage 2 on my 08 with the COBB AP but my car was broken into and the AP was stolen (stupid right?). I'd hope someone from Cobb can answer this question. #3 · Aug 10, 2009 Cobb will ask you to send them the ECU, I think thats how it works. Thats the only way to get into your ECU without the cobb unit that is married to your car. #4 · Aug 10, 2009 That really blows. Cobb locks the ECU so that no other programs can access it when it's married. At least the robbers could have unmarried it before they took it! I hate thieves! #5 · Aug 10, 2009 But if the AP is "married" to your ECU, how can the thieves use the AP on their car? Don't they have to send in the AP to Cobb to have it "unmarried?" If they do and you have your AP's serial number documented, then you have your thief. But newer firmware on V2 AccessPorts have a locked mapping feature which can't be overwritten unless it's another V2 AccessPort or you can send in the ECU to COBB to be flashed back to stock. OP- If you know anyone with the AP-SUB-003 part # then you can use their uninstalled AccessPort to overwrite(install) the data then uninstall; by doing so will put a factory replica map on the ECU. Hi Cheers well i have a problem. i leave the car on my work shop. and they make a reflash open source. and they don't know i was using AP and of course the do this after unmarried my AP. and now i want to use my AP and it doesn't work. what can i do? thanks:( 0 Reply #10 · Sep 25, 2009 How is the AccessPORT not working. We need a little more information here. If the AP was unmarried, then you should be able to reinstall it, but of course, that will overwrite your open source tune. You cannot use Open Source with an AccessPORT, they are mutually exclusive. Travis COBB Tuning #11 · Sep 25, 2009 i try to married it again. but it try to do it and say. first unmarried. i want to use it. just. not both tunes. i just want to use the AP. i will take pictures of the screen of the AP. before go to the shop it was working great. but they reflash the ecu whith opensource. after that it doesnt work again Insert Quotes Post Reply
