The 1969 animated holiday classic “Frosty the Snowman” will air at 8 p.m. Nov. 29 on CBS and 8 p.m. Dec. 6, 6:15 p.m. Dec. 7, 5:45 p.m. Dec. 20, 12:55 p.m. Dec. 21, 8:20 p.m. Dec. 24 and 3:10 p.m. Dec. 25 on Freeform.

  • STREAM: CBS on Hulu and fuboTV; Freeform on Hulu and Sling.

This perennial favorite features Jimmy Durante as the narrator.

The song, “Frosty the Snowman,” was first recorded by Gene Autry and later by Durante. The song came before the short film.

A group of children find a magic hat and bring a snowman to life. But when the owner of the hat wants it back and the temperature gets warmer, the children must find a way to get Frosty away from warm weather and the magician.

“Frosty the snowman

Was a jolly happy soul

With a corncob pipe and a button nose

And two eyes made out of coal.

Frosty the snowman

is a fairy tale they say

He was made of snow

But the children know

How he came to life one day.

There must have been some magic in that

Old silk hat they found

For when they placed it on his head

He began to dance around.”
