CAN I WATCH ROADRUNNER: A FILM ABOUT ANTHONY BOURDAIN ON STREAMING?

Not just yet. For now, the only way to watch the Anthony Bourdain documentary is in a movie theater.

WHEN WILL THE ANTHONY BOURDAIN DOCUMENTARY BE ON STREAMING?

There is not yet a digital release date or streaming release date for Roadrunner. However, because the film is produced by CNN and HBO Max, we do know that the film will air on both CNN and on HBO Max—which is only available in the U.S.—at a later, unspecified date.

We can also guess that the film will be available to rent for $20 on premium video-on-demand in about three weeks’ time. That’s because the film is being distributed by Focus Features, which is owned by Universal Studios. Universal has a deal that allows the studio to release its films on premium video-on-demand—meaning you would be able to rent the movie for $20—after 17 days in theaters, if the film makes less than $50 million at the opening weekend box office. That would mean you could rent Roadrunner at home as early as August 3, 2021.

WILL ROADRUNNER: A FILM ABOUT ANTHONY BOURDAIN BE ON HBO MAX?

Eventually, yes! Roadrunner is co-produced by HBO Max, and it will stream on the service at a later, unspecified date. However, if you want to see Roadrunner right away, your best bet is to catch the film in theaters, beginning on Friday, July 16.
