How To Watch The 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards - Harper's Bazaar

The Screen Actors Guild honors performances in both television and film. So if you're a huge fan of an actor who hasn't been nominated for an Emmy or Oscar this year, rejoice—there's still hope for your fave later this month.

Take Lady Gaga, for example, who may finally get her shining moment for her campy performance as Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott's House of Gucci. The singer and actress isn't up for an Academy Award this year, but she was nominated for best actress by the guild, which also recognized castmate Jared Leto for best supporting actor.

"I am so beyond grateful to be nominated by the @sagawards for my performance in House of Gucci," she wrote on Instagram following the January news. "To be recognized by fellow actors touches my heart."

The ceremony arrives in late February around the time of the 94th annual Academy Awards, so we may see back-to-back awards for double-nominated actresses Jessica Chastain, Nicole Kidman, or Olivia Colman. All Oscar nominees, the three are up for SAG Awards for their respective roles in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Being the Ricardos, and The Lost Daughter.

As for TV, SAG history is already being made thanks to Squid Game: The Netflix show became the guild's first-ever Korean and non-English-language project to be nominated, with stars Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon both landing nominations of their own. HBO's Succession broke ground this year, too, earning the most nominations (five of them!) for Outstanding Performance. Sarah Snook, Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, and Juliana Canfield all might bring home awards.

Kate Winslet of Mare of Easttown and Ted Lasso's Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham are among the Emmy-qualifying SAG Award contenders in television. Additional nominees this year include cast members from The Handmaid’s Tale, The Morning Show, Yellowstone, and Only Murders in the Building.

The 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, and will be screened live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, February 27, at 8 p.m. ET.
