How To Watch The Suicide Squad - IGN

The Suicide Squad is here. It's the latest major DC superhero movie, and it's now available to view on screens both big and small. It may not have made a major splash at the box office, thanks largely to the pandemic, the movie's R-rating, and its availability on HBO Max. But that doesn't mean you should skip it. On the contrary.

A sequel to the 2016 movie Suicide Squad, it features a star-studded cast including Margo Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Sylvester Stalone, Viola Davis, and many more more. The Suicide Squad was written and directed by James Gunn, who also helmed both Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

If you're wondering just what your options are to watch The Suicide Squad, you've come to the right place. Read on for the goods.

What is The Suicide Squad About?

As mentioned above, The Suicide Squad is a sequel to the 2016 movie of a very similar name (Suicide Squad). Basically, all the most troublesome super-villains are kept in the Belle Reve prison. When the government needs a crew of super-powered people for a mission that's too dangerous for the superheroes society actually cares about, they form a suicide squad of villains.

In this movie, the villains in this film--Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Bloodsport, and a bunch more goofy characters--are needed to put an end to the mysterious Project Starfish.

What is The Suicide Squad Rated?

The Suicide Squad is rated R by the MPAA for "strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity."

In the UK, the ratings board listed it appropriate for people age 15 and up, a move that has stirred up some controversy. One viewer tweeted, "I’m really shocked & confused as to what makes a film a 15 or 18. Suicide Squad has to be one of the goriest films films I’ve seen in years (literally disgusting in places)..."
