What's the Story?
HOW WE ROLL is a sitcom based on the life of professional bowler Tom Smallwood. When Smallwood (Pete Holmes) gets laid off from his assembly line job a few days before Christmas, he decides to pursue his dream of becoming a professional bowler. His wife Jen (Katie Lowes) and his son Sam (Mason Wells) fully support him, as does Archie (Chi McBride), his bowling mentor and owner of the local alley. But his mom (played by Julie White) is apprehensive, and hopes that he's making the right decision. Taking a chance like this isn't easy, but Tom knows he's being given a second chance for a reason.
Show moreIs It Any Good?
Our review: Parents say : Not yet rated Kids say: Not yet ratedThe lighthearted series highlights the ups and downs that come with taking big risks in hopes of reaching one's dreams. It uses humor to showcases the dynamics of the tight-knit family, along with the challenges that come with trying to make a living on the pro-bowling circuit. But while the messages are positive, the writing is sometimes flat, and the punch lines don't always work. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a series with some heart, How We Roll may fit the bill.

How much of the showoffers an accurate portrayal of Tom Smallwood's life? What kind of creative license did they take to make the series entertaining?
