In the past, Pawderosa Ranch has brought you Obie the obese Dachshund, the 90-pound Dachshund that underwent a dramatic weight transformation. We also showed you Bear, the Doberman who weighed over 140 pounds when he was rescued by San Antonio Animal Control. Well, it’s time for a new friend. Meet Hulk, the pit bull who weighs in at over 170 pounds. And, at only 18 months old, he’s still growing.

Hulk has been raised by the New Hampshire based Dark Dynasty K-9’s, an organization that trains pit bulls for guard and attack dog services, since he was a puppy. But Hulk is a little more than the average pit bull. Hulk is a crossbreed. He was born from a pit bull and an English bulldog, which may contribute to his gigantic size.

Probably the most important question regarding Hulk is “What do you feed a 175 pound pit bull?” The answer: 4 pounds of ground beef. Daily. That’s right. Hulk takes in 4 pounds of raw ground beef every single day.

Hulk might seem like the ideal candidate for an ‘attack dog,’ but the two owners of Dark Dynasty, Marlon and Lisa Grennan, have been taking Hulk home to their young son. He plays with Hulk, sleeps with Hulk, and even rides on Hulk’s back like a horse. Marlon says that he has “. . . no concerns about any of the dogs around [his] son.”

The organization hopes that the publicity around Hulk will help raise awareness about pit bulls and reduce the misconceptions around them. “It’s all about the amount of care you put into these dogs,” Marlon says.
