Hyundai Tucson launch on August 4: Segment-first features to look out for!2022 Hyundai Tucson LWB with Level 2 ADAS The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is expected to launch on August 4 and promises to bring several segment first features to the premium SUV space. Here is a rundown of the Hyundai Tucson’s top features that you should watch out for. The SUV has been on sale internationally for a while but with its entry into India, it will go up against the likes of Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 and Volkswagen Tiguan.Here’s what sets it apart.2022 Hyundai Tucson2022 Hyundai Tucson NX4i LWB1. Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS):The 2022 Hyundai Tucson comes loaded with a Level 2 suite of ADAS features. Hyundai calls it ‘SmartSense’ and it is the company’s first vehicle to feature ADAS capability in India. The SUV has safety nets on both the front and the rear, that use radar and cameras on either side to mitigate dangerous situations.On the front:The Hyundai Tucson features a front collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning system, lane keep assist and high beam assist.At the rear:The premium SUV offers blind spot collision avoidance assist and a safe exit warning system.Convenience:Apart from the safety nets, the Tucson’s ADAS also offers several driver convenience features such as a smart cruise control with stop and go capability, lane follow assist and surround and blind view monitoring.However, going for the Level 2 ADAS suite will be available as an option for both petrol and diesel buyers.2022 Hyundai Tucson<p>2022 Hyundai Tucson with HTRAC AWD<br></p>2. All-Wheel-Drive with Terrain Modes:Another big feature of the 2022 Tucson SUV is the HTRAC all-wheel-drive system that does duty on the majority of Hyundai SUVs available in the international market. The system offers three terrain modes namely snow, sand and mud. The HTRAC system constantly monitors 50 vehicle inputs over 100 times per second and delivers the required amount of torque to each wheel for maximum performance. It can also detect slippage and reroute power between front and rear axles. It is capable of applying minor brake inputs to the left and right wheels to maintain optimum traction at all times.3. Long-Wheel-Base NX4i variant for India:Hyundai is only bringing the 2022 Tucson’s LWB variant called the NX4i to India. Hyundai claims that the 5-seater SUV will offer the best in segment wheelbase of 2,755 mm, increasing the cabin space and 2nd row legroom to 1,050 mm for customers. Additionally, The 2nd row will also offer recline features and the front passenger seat will be electronically adjustable from the rear for added comfort.2022 Hyundai Tucson2022 Hyundai Tucson with Bluelink connectivity4. Hyundai Bluelink connectivity:The 2022 Tucson will also feature Hyundai’s Bluelink connectivity suite. Bluelink is an Artificial Intelligence based system that offers safety, security and convenience features such as voice commands for operating the vehicle’s several features. In total, the Tucson’s Bluelink suite will have 60+ embedded voice commands embedded in the system, that do not depend on internet connectivity to execute a command. These commands can range from switching on the AC, opening the vehicle’s sunroof, checking the tyre pressure and a lot more. The system enabled over-the-air (OTA) updates and constant software upgrades and bug fixes.5. Premium interiors:The 2022 Tucson will feature all the bells and whistles that customers expect from a product in the premium SUV segment. It will offer a large 10.25-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera, leather wrapped ventilated seats, electronic parking brake, wireless charger, 8-speaker Bose audio system and a panoramic sunroof among other things.2022 Hyundai Tucson2022 Hyundai Tucson offers ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof6. Performance:The premium SUV will be on offer in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0 litre petrol will produce 156 PS and 192 Nm and will come equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre diesel will produce 186 PS and 400 Nm and will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. No manual transmission options will be available for now.
