Form 3514 is the Form for the California Earned Income Tax Credit.

Have you ever received a letter from the IRS that disallowed the Earned Income Credit (EIC)? If no then answer "no" to the question.

Why doesn't TurboTax just say, "Have you ever received a letter from the IRS that disallowed the Earned Income Credit (EIC)? If no then answer 'no' to the question."?

Instead of "Form 3514: Fed EIC disallowed box must be entered" out of the blue, seconds before you e-file.

If user answer Yes to the above question, then prompt the next question:

2. DidFed EIC disallowed ....

(a) Yes

(b) No
