This is what happened when I had 1 litre water everyday
Learning from other’s experiences is the best form of lesson. Not only is it a first-hand account, raw and unabridged, but it makes you believe that you can do it as well. One of our readers, Rashi Yadav, has written about how simply drinking the most natural form of liquid available to us changed her health.
If you have an experience wherein a diet, exercise or any other health modification worked wonders for you, you can email your story to us at [email protected] and we may publish it!

Neglecting my health
I work 9-5, have my weekends off and also end up being the guinea pig of healthy experiments or tips available online. I am a millennial who’s always on the go. Breakfast is always done simultaneously with driving, lunch is with a client or while being on the phone with one and dinner is usually skipped to keep my weight off. But in this effort to ‘save’ time, I ended up neglecting my health.

Too many issues
It was one day when I was at the salon that the beauty expert said my skin was too dry. Even while she wiped off the cotton off my skin, the fiber of the cotton stuck to my skin. It was truly an embarrassing moment. I went back home and checked my skin a hundred times just to make sure I wasn’t developing any disease. And the millennial in me blamed the eye bags, the dry skin, the pongy stomach, the flabby arms and the tiredness to my job.

New experiment
It was only on one of my hours on social media that reading an article on how water can work for you, made the health rat in me try it out. The basic issue with us always on the go, 9-5 population is that we look for alternatives easy to find and sustain. There is a reason why we are not able to stick to those gym memberships. It’s out of our way and charges us a bomb. Getting back to the water bit, I decided to have 1 litre of water every day right after getting up. I thought at least this way I won’t completely ignore water through the day and survive only on teas and coffees.

Every day
So, every day for one month, I had 1 litre of water as soon as I got up. No tea, no coffee, no green tea, just plain simple water. Initially, it was difficult to wake myself up, but by the seventh day, I felt thirsty in the morning hours. I admit I did cheat once and had tea, but I didn’t like it, I longed for water instead!

Helped me in various ways
Having water right after waking up helped me in various ways. Firstly, I did not feel groggy in the morning, instead, I felt fresh. And this freshness lasted throughout the day. Secondly, I slowly stopped looking for black coffee at odd hours of the day. I would rather have water. I did have tea in the morning after finishing one bottle of water, but I didn’t crave for caffeine all the time.

Feeling lighter
Another major change I saw in myself was that I felt lighter. Yes, I had to pee several times a day, but I didn’t feel bloated anymore. This was also because my occasional constipation issues had vanished. And lastly, my skin became better! The cotton fiber had now stopped sticking to my skin.

Simple change
In the end, I can safely say that sometimes even the most common factors can help in a massive manner. I had no clue something as simple as water would help regain my health!
