It’s not a useless question at all, don’t worry! I’m always really happy to get questions in my inbox, and I’m absolutely not tired of seeing any of you—on the contrary, I’m really happy to see so many familiar faces in my ask and activity these days!

As for ndrv3 character ages, I can say with certainty that at least Gonta is confirmed to be the youngest male character! He was confirmed in an interview as such, although it’s not really clear whether he’s meant to be the youngest in the whole group as well, or just the youngest boy.

As for Ouma being the oldest, I haven’t heard anything to that effect! It could very well be a rumor as a result of people kind of expecting it, since Gonta is the tallest but actually quite young. So people might have assumed that since Ouma is so short, he could very well be older.

I do know their birthdays are stated, although without any years attached. There’s not a lot to go on in terms of inferring their ages overall since there’s no point in comparing to Hope’s Peak character birthday years, so all we really know for sure is that they’re high school aged. Of course…knowing DR plot twists, that could mean literally anything, since neither Naegi and his friends nor Hinata and co. were the age they thought of themselves as being in dr1 or sdr2.

Amami does definitely call them all “high school students” when they gather in the prologue, though. The fact that there are 16 gathered people, specifically high school students, is what makes him sure that there’s another SHSL Hunt going on. And since he’s definitely participated in previous versions of the same killing game show, we can assume Amami is definitely not a 1st-year high school student (moreso with how much of his character seems to be based on the chill senpai/onii-chan vibe).

My guess is that they all fall into the 2nd-year/3rd-year Japanese high school student range, which means anywhere from 16-18, with the likeliest answers being about 16-17. Gonta is our youngest boy, but since Himiko’s profile mentions that she claims she was the “youngest person ever chosen by the world magic lovers’ society,” I’d say she could very well be either the youngest girl or youngest character overall. Of course, that’s just a guess though.

All in all, the exact ages are particular are unknown, or even whether they’re actually in the same year or not. I would guess one of the requirements for auditioning to be on the killing game show is just “being a high school student,” so there’s a possibility that they could be at least a year or so apart. It’s fun room for thought and speculation, at least!
