When Melanie Griffith filed for divorce in June 2014 from Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage, the world was left with one less reason to believe in true love.

In the latest issue of Porter Magazine, Griffith opened up about just why she chose to split from the actor: “I think part of the reason my marriage to Antonio fell apart was because I was stuck; nobody else is to blame. It’s just that I personally got stuck and I won’t let that happen again, I want to enjoy life, I want to do whatever I want to do.”

Banderas is now dating Nicole Kimpel, while Griffith said she hasn’t been with anyone since the divorce, and rarely dates.

“I’m shy with men now, very reticent. I haven’t met anyone in the almost two years we have been divorced, ” she said. “I don’t go on dates, nobody has asked me on a date. I go out with my girlfriends.”

The 59-year-old said she is particularly good friends with Kris Jenner, whom she met through Jenner’s daughter, Khloe Kardashian, as they share a gym trainer. Jenner has been trying to set Griffith up with men but she finds it too “weird.”

“We’ve both been divorced a couple of times, we’ve had a few kids and we’ve had situations in common — life-changing ones,” Griffith said. “I’ll be having a shitty day, the lowest of the lows, and she’ll come over, sit on my bed and be right there with me.”

Griffith shares daughter Stella, 20, with Banderas, and also has children Alexander, 31, and daughter Dakota, 27, from her previous marriages to actors Steven Bauer and Don Johnson, respectively.
