Ice

Block ID: 79

Ice is a semi-transparent block that forms in tundra and snow biomes. It can be broken without any tools, but a Pickaxe greatly augments the process. It can't be collected once broken, but can be created by putting Water in a mold and letting it freeze in a winter biome. These blocks can be used for construction. Ice can't be created from flowing water. Ice blocks can be obtained in creative,  by using commands, or a Silk Touch Pickaxe.

When broken, ice blocks will turn into water source blocks. However, if it is in close proximity to other ice blocks, it will quickly freeze over again. Torches, Redstone, and other blocks cannot be placed on ice as it is a 'glass' type block.
