If the date of a source is in the format October 04, 2017, when I convert it to MLA style, should I include the zero?

Note: This post relates to content in the eighth edition of the MLA Handbook. For up-to-date guidance, see the ninth edition of the MLA Handbook.

No, the date in MLA format would be 4 October 2017.
