Updated March 10, 2022
2022-2023 Ikon Pass Prices:
- Full Ikon Pass: $1,079
- Ikon Base Plus Pass: $969
- Ikon Base Pass: $769
The biggest changes to the Ikon Pass for 2022-2023:
- The addition of Idaho's Sun Valley and Utah's Snowbasin—owned by the same family—to the pass. Both resorts are defectors from Vail's Epic Pass.
- The addition of Chamonix Mont-Blanc to the Ikon Pass. Full pass holder will receive seven days to the Chamonix-area resorts, and Base Pass holders get five days. Access includes Grands Montets, Balme (Le Tour/Vallorcine), Brévent, Félgère, Les Houches. For North Americans who have not skied the alps, Chamonix is, in our opinion, the grandest place to start. Grand Montets is the crown jewel of gnarly alpine terrain in the French Alps, and Brévent and Félgère offer skiers good access to trees when the light is flat or a storm has moved in and made skiing Grand Montets difficult. And Les Houches, always a dear place to ZRankings, speaks for itself.
- Spot Insurance: medical insurance for injuries on the mountain, an offering was pioneered at Telluride during 2021-2022, is now an optional add-on for all Ikon pass holders.
- The Ikon Base Plus Pass, which previously ran an additional $150 compared with the normal Base Pass and secured skiers access to Jackson Hole and Aspen Snowmass, now costs $200 more than a standard Base Pass. In addition, Deer Valley and Alta have been moved to the Plus Pass tier along with Jackson and Aspen. Both Sun Valley and Snowbasin, the Ikon newcomers, will require a Base Plus Pass or a full Ikon Pass for access. So the resorts not accessible via the Ikon Base Pass are: Jackson Hole, Aspen Snowmass, Deer Valley, Alta, Snowbasin and Sun Valley.
- Full Ikon pass holders will no longer receive all-season access to Washington's Crystal Mountain, where crowds have been an acute issue. Instead, Ikon Pass holders will get seven days access to Crystal and Base Pass holders will receive five. Those who want a full season of access at Crystal will have to spend an additional $700 on top of the Ikon Pass price of $1,079 for a total of $1,779.
In addition: The Ikon Session Pass will now come in 2, 3 and 4-day variations. The Session Pass comes with blackout dates and does not include access to Jackson Hole, Aspen, Deer Valley, Sun Valley or Snowbasin. The Session Pass Pricing ranges from $249 for two days to $419 for four days.
