Immune Boosting Onion Tea - GIRLS WHO EAT
Maybe your like
This immune-boosting onion tea originated in the Dominican Republic as a traditional remedy for colds and immunity support. It takes just 20 minutes to prepare and has a surprisingly pleasant taste, especially when enhanced with apple, cinnamon, and honey for a sweet and tangy flavor. For added depth, ginger or lemon can also be included. Perfect for the winter season or anytime immune support is needed, this tea is a simple and effective way to promote wellness.
For this recipe, you will need:
- Red Onion: you want to use a red onion since it has the antioxidant quercetin, which is great for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and immune boosting
- Water
- Apple
- Cinnamon
- Honey: I always use raw honey
- Add-ins such as sliced ginger and lemon juice (optional)
Tips:
- Leave the onion skin on
- Any apples will do, but ideally a sweeter variety like honeycrisp or gala
How to Store:
- Let cool and store in a sealed container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator
