So I recently wanted to get imovie for my mac so I went into the App Store to download imovie, but it won't download. When I tree to download imovie, there would be the usual circle that spins to show that it's loading? But it doesn't stop, it just keeps spinning, it doesn't seem to be downloading anything, nothing. So I tried stoping it, then quit the App Store then restart my Mac. When I try to download imovie again, it started to download, and there's the progress circle thing. When I go into my Launchpad, it always stop downloading at around 500 MB. It just stops downloading, disappears, then I need to go back to the App Store and yet again, it keeps on happening. So I need help with this. I'm using MacOS Mojave version 10.14.5. I thought I needed an update but it says I'm up to date. I did try to install Sierria but it says it's not available or something.
MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Hi,
First, make sure that you have sufficient free space for iMovie to download and for you Mac to operate efficiently. 20GB should be enough. Then check your applications folder to see if iMovie did in fact download.
If the above is not the problem, try booting up in Safe Mode (see Finder Help Menu for instructions) and, after everything loads, immediately shut down your Mac and restart your computer. Now see if you can download iMovie.
If still no luck, contact Apple Support (click on the tab at the top right hand corner of the page on this forum).

- Unable to update or download imovie Hi, thanks for your help, I am trying to use imovie for the first time. I have had my mac book pro for a while and have never used it. I tried to open the app, the icon being a gold star - it was the '09 version 8.0.6' but from the menu there was no option to create a new project. I am using Mojave 10.14.6, so thought I needed to update the app. I have uninstalled the old version, and tried to download the imovie app from the app store, but when I click on the cloud, it goes into the cycle / busy mode as if it is going to download, does this for a minute or so, then reverts back to showing the cloud symbol without doing anything. any suggestions would be appreciated. 1107 6
- iMovie Won't Download Long story short. I made an entire iMovie and tried to export it and it kept giving me a compressor kit error. After speaking with Apple support, they suggested I update my mac - it's a macbook pro 2012. I updated it last night and this morning, I have tried to update iMovie. iMovie won't update, though. It'll start updating and get halfway through and then just stop moving anymore. It's been doing that for hours. So, I tried to stop the download and restart and it does that same thing. I tried to delete the app, but when I hit delete, it never actually deletes. I've tried to movie iMovie to the trash and empty the trash and now my trash has been trying to delete for 20 minutes. Can anyone help resolve this? 894 1
- iMovie not downloading I'm trying to download the iMovie app on my Macbook Air and it will not download. I've had it before so when I try to download it, it has the little cloud with the arrow picture but when I click on it nothing happens and it won't show up in my applications. I have everything updated to the macOS Catalina and plenty of room on my mac but the app still won't download. All I get is a second of the waiting wheel and then back to the cloud with the arrow. Help. 931 3
