Hi bellacubides,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that when you try to update iMovie on your Mac you're prompted to accept the application on your account page in the App Store. I also see that after accepting the app, you're still unable to update and prompted again to accept the app. I can see why you'd reach out about this; I'd like to help. First, if you haven't already, try these steps:

  • Quit apps on Mac
  • Log out, sleep, restart, or shut down your Mac
  • Open the App Store and go to your account page to accept the app
  • After accepting, attempt to update again.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend using the resources below to remove and reinstall iMovie on your Mac:

  • How to delete apps on your Mac
  • Install and reinstall apps purchased from the App Store on Mac

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.

Hi,

iMovie 10.1.14 is the current version, so you can't yet update from that. What iMovie version do you have and are you trying to update it to 10.1.14? If you are trying to update to 10.1.14 try dragging your iMovie app from the Applications folder to the trash, but don't empty the trash. Then sign in to the app store and click on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar to open your account and see your purchases. iMovie should be displayed as a purchase. See if you can update it from there. If still unable to update, drag your old iMovie out of the trash and place it back in the Applications folder.
